All On Eyes Chris Paul – No more excuses

Chris Paul needs to take the Clippers to the Western Conference Finals. Its that direct, and that simple. Anything less should be considered a failure for CP3 and the Clippers. CP3 is the best point guard in the game but has never reached the conference finals in his career. The time has come where CP3 can no longer get a pass for his playoff production. The Clippers haven’t accomplished anything yet expect hang selfies in the rafters. Anyways when it comes to CP3, I know you think I’m a CP3 hater or a Clipper hate

r and you’d be right on the latter not the former. I love the way CP3 plays the game of basketball. I love the edge and feistiness CP3 brings every single game. Having said that, there has to come a point where you look at the greats and you hold them to higher a standard. That time has come for CP3.

CP3 has now been with the Clippers for 4 years, he’s had Blake and DeAndre and JJ and Doc. He’s led to the Clippers to division titles but has failed to get beyond the second round in his entire career. For Clipper fans, this year has to be the breaking point where you expect and demand more from the Clippers and their leader CP3. With DeAndre Jordan becoming a free agent this summer, this very well maybe the last time we see this Clipper nucleus together.

If CP3 fails to reach the conference finals yet again, his legacy will take and should take a hit. Yes, it’s unfair and bad luck that the Clippers have to face the defending champions in the San Antonio Spurs. But like the old saying goes “if you want to be the best youve gotta beat the best”. Which is what the Clippers are going to have to do if they want to keep their title hopes alive. It’s part of the championship process it won’t easy but it’s the process every team has to endure.

Remember the time there was a legitimate debate between CP3 and Deron Williams, for who the best point guard was? Chris Paul won that debate in a landslide. Yet, Williams has made an appearance in the conference finals. CP3 has helped make the Clippers respectable and contenders. Now it’s time for him to lead his team to new heights, CP3 must do what other great point guards such as: Magic Johnson. John Stockton and Isaiah Thomas were able to accomplish, seize the moment and lead his team deep in the playoffs. Every superstar is judged by how their teams performs in the playoffs and CP3 should be not be the exception.

The Clippers have their work cut out for them right out the gate, but if there was ever a time for these Clippers and CP3 to be relentless, it is now. It’s your time CP3. Los Angeles is watching, if you want to run this city, now is your time to rise or crumble under the pressure and scrutiny and adopt the title, as Skip Bayless eloquently put it, of CP0.

No more excuses, no mores passes, just be relentless and get passed the second round this year.
